From Iron to Silver league, you will get promoted if you place within the top ranks, and get demoted if you place within the bottom ranks.

 

Starting with Gold league and higher, you will gain a ★ by placing in the top ranks, and lose a ★ by placing in the bottom ranks. You will get promoted by collecting ten ★, and get demoted if your ★ becomes zero.
